Why can't I upload a review photo?
Troubleshooting image upload issues.
Review photo uploads occasionally run into technical issues, but they're usually easy to fix. Adding photos to your reviews is one of the most helpful things you can do for other shoppers, so let's get it working.
Common Fixes
Check the File Size Review photos must be under 5MB each. High-resolution photos from modern phone cameras often exceed this. To reduce file size, send the photo to yourself via text or email (this often compresses it automatically), use your phone's built-in photo editor to resize it, take the photo at a lower resolution setting, or take a screenshot of the photo (screenshots are typically smaller files).
Use a Supported Format Upload photos in JPG or PNG format. These are the most widely supported image formats. If your photo is in HEIC format (default on newer iPhones), convert it to JPG first — you can do this by emailing the photo to yourself (it auto-converts) or using a free online converter.
Check Browser Permissions Your browser may be blocking file uploads. When the upload dialog appears, make sure you grant permission for the site to access your files. If you previously denied permission, reset it in your browser settings:
Chrome: Click the padlock icon in the address bar > Site Settings > Reset permissions.
Safari: Preferences > Websites > check permissions for inspireuplift.com.
Firefox: Click the padlock icon > Connection secure > More Information > Permissions.
Try a Different Browser If the upload fails in one browser, try another — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. Browser-specific compatibility issues are one of the most common causes of upload problems.
Clear Your Browser Cache Accumulated cache data can interfere with upload functionality. Clear your cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete on Windows, Cmd+Shift+Delete on Mac) and try again.
Disable Ad Blockers or Extensions Some browser extensions interfere with file upload dialogs. Temporarily disable extensions and try your upload again. If it works with extensions off, re-enable them one at a time to identify the culprit.
Check Your Internet Connection Photo uploads require a stable connection. If your WiFi is weak or intermittent, the upload may fail silently. Try switching to a stronger connection or mobile data.
Uploading From Different Devices
From Your Phone (Recommended) Most review photos are taken on phones, making them the easiest device to upload from. When the upload option appears, select "Photo Library" or "Camera Roll" and choose your photo. If offered the option to take a new photo, you can capture one directly.
From Your Desktop or Laptop When the upload dialog opens, navigate to where your photo is saved and select it. If your photos are on your phone, transfer them to your computer first via email, cloud storage (Google Photos, iCloud, Dropbox), or a USB connection.
From the App The Inspire Uplift app supports review photo uploads. Go to "My Orders," find the delivered order, tap "Write a Review" or "Edit Review," and use the photo upload option. The app can access your phone's camera roll directly.
If Nothing Works
If you've tried all the fixes above and still can't upload photos:
Email your photos to us. Send your review photos to contact@inspireuplift.com with your order number, the product name, your star rating, and your written review text. We'll add the photos to your review on your behalf.
Post your review without photos first. Submit your written review and star rating now, then try adding photos later by editing the review (see our article: Can I Change My Review After Posting?). Sometimes the upload issue is temporary and resolves itself.
Tips for Great Review Photos
Show the actual product clearly. Photograph the item in good lighting against a clean background. Show different angles if relevant.
Include scale references. Place the product next to a common object (your hand, a coin, a ruler) to help other shoppers understand the size.
Show it in use. If the product is wearable, show it being worn. If it's home decor, show it in your space. If it's a gadget, show it in action. Real-life context is far more helpful than product-on-a-table shots.
Show any issues honestly. If you're leaving a review about a defect or discrepancy, photograph exactly what's wrong. This helps other shoppers and helps us monitor product quality.
Don't over-filter. Other shoppers want to see what the product actually looks like. Heavy photo filters make your review photos less useful because they alter colors, textures, and details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many photos can I add to one review? A: The number of photos allowed per review may vary, but you can typically upload several images. If you hit a limit and have additional photos you'd like included, email the extras to us with your order number and we'll see what we can do.
Q: Can I upload videos to my review? A: Review uploads are currently limited to photos. If you have a helpful video review, consider posting it to social media and mentioning the product — we love seeing video reviews and may share them (with your permission) on our social channels.
Q: My photos uploaded but look blurry. Why? A: Photos may be compressed during upload to optimize loading speeds. For the best results, upload the highest quality original photo (within the 5MB limit) rather than a screenshot or previously compressed version.
Q: Can I remove a photo from my review after uploading? A: Yes. Go to "My Reviews," find the review, click "Edit," and remove the photo you want to delete. You can also replace it with a different photo at the same time.
