Yes! Inspire Uplift is a great place to shop for gifts, and sending an order directly to someone else is easy. Simply enter the recipient's address as the shipping address at checkout, and we'll deliver it straight to their door. Here's everything you need to know about gift orders, keeping prices hidden, and making your gift special.
How to Send a Gift
Sending a gift on Inspire Uplift works just like placing a regular order — the only difference is you enter someone else's address instead of your own.
Step 1: Browse and add gift items to your cart as you normally would.
Step 2: Proceed to checkout.
Step 3: In the shipping address section, enter the recipient's full name and delivery address. Make sure to include their complete street address with apartment or unit number if applicable, city, state/province, ZIP/postal code, country, and their phone number (helpful in case the carrier needs to contact them about delivery).
Step 4: Your billing address (for payment verification) can be different from the shipping address. If the billing address checkbox says "My billing address is the same as my shipping address," uncheck it and enter your own billing address.
Step 5: Complete your payment and place the order.
That's it — your gift will ship directly to the recipient. You'll receive the order confirmation and tracking emails at your email address so you can monitor delivery without the recipient knowing details.
Keeping the Price Hidden
One of the most common concerns with gift orders is making sure the recipient doesn't see what you paid. Here are your options:
Order Confirmation Email The order confirmation email goes to your email address, not the recipient's. They won't receive any email from us about the order unless you forward it to them.
Packing Slip Some shipments may include a packing slip inside the package. If you want to make sure pricing isn't visible to the recipient, contact us immediately after placing your order with your order number and a request for a gift packing slip (no pricing). If your order hasn't shipped yet, we can coordinate with the seller to remove pricing from the packing slip or exclude it entirely. The sooner you contact us after ordering, the better your chances — once the package is sealed and shipped, we can't modify what's inside.
Tracking Information Tracking emails and updates go to your email address, so the recipient won't see tracking details or order amounts through our communications. If you want to share tracking with the recipient so they know to expect a package, you can forward just the tracking number or link without sharing the full order email.
Gift Wrapping and Gift Messages
Gift wrapping and message options vary by seller since our 55,000+ independent sellers each manage their own packaging and fulfillment.
How to Request Gift Wrapping: Not all sellers offer gift wrapping, but many are happy to accommodate requests. Check the product page for any gift wrapping options listed during checkout. If you don't see a gift wrap option, contact the seller directly through the product page before ordering and ask if they offer gift wrapping. Some sellers provide gift wrapping for free while others may charge a small fee.
How to Include a Gift Message: Some products offer a gift message field at checkout. If you don't see this option, contact the seller before or immediately after ordering with your order number and the message you'd like included. Many sellers will happily write a handwritten note or include a printed message card with your gift. Keep your message brief and clear so the seller can include it accurately.
If the Seller Doesn't Offer Wrapping: You can always purchase wrapping supplies separately and have both the gift and wrapping materials shipped to your own address, then wrap and deliver personally. Alternatively, ship the gift directly to the recipient and let them know it's coming — many people appreciate knowing a package is on the way rather than being surprised by an unexpected delivery.
Timing Your Gift Delivery
Getting a gift to arrive on or before a specific date requires planning ahead. Here's how to estimate timing:
For US Domestic Gifts: Standard delivery takes 7-14 business days total (1-3 days processing + 5-10 days shipping). For gifts, we recommend ordering at least 2-3 weeks before the occasion. During peak seasons (November-December, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day), add an extra week.
For International Gifts: International delivery takes 10-35 business days depending on destination, plus potential customs processing. Order 4-6 weeks ahead for international gift delivery to be safe.
For Custom or Personalized Gifts: Personalized and handmade items require additional processing time (5-14+ business days) before shipping even begins. Order these 4-6 weeks ahead for domestic delivery and 6-8 weeks for international.
If you're running short on time, contact us before ordering with the product link, recipient's address, and the date you need delivery by. We'll tell you honestly whether the timeline is achievable and suggest the fastest available option.
Sending Gifts to Hotels, Offices, and Other Locations
Hotel Delivery: You can ship gifts to a hotel for someone who's traveling. Format the address like this:
Recipient Name (Guest arriving [date]) Hotel Name 123 Hotel Street City, State ZIP
Include check-in dates so the hotel knows to hold the package. Call the hotel in advance to confirm they accept guest packages and ask about any size restrictions.
Office/Workplace Delivery: Shipping to someone's workplace is a great option — it ensures someone is there to receive the package during business hours. Include the recipient's name, company name, and any suite or floor number. If the building has a mailroom, the package will be held there.
University/College Delivery: Use the recipient's campus mailbox address or dorm address. Include their full name as registered with the school. Check with the campus mail center about package receiving policies.

If the recipient needs to return a gift, our standard 14-day return policy applies. The process works slightly differently for gifts:
The recipient can contact us with the order number (you'd need to share this with them) or with details about the item they received. We'll locate the order and work with them on a return. Refunds for gift returns go back to the original payment method (yours), not to the recipient. Alternatively, we may be able to issue store credit to the recipient's account so they can choose something they prefer.
If you'd rather handle the return yourself, the recipient can ship the item to you and you can initiate the return through your account.
For defective or damaged gift items, the recipient can contact us directly and we'll arrange a replacement or refund regardless of who placed the order.
Sending Multiple Gifts to Different People
If you're buying gifts for several people, you have two options:
Place separate orders for each recipient with their individual shipping address. This is the simplest approach — each gift ships directly to its recipient with its own tracking number. You can track each delivery independently.
Place one order and ship to yourself, then personally deliver or mail the gifts. This works well if you want to wrap everything yourself, add personal touches, or hand-deliver gifts. All items come to your address, and you handle distribution.
You cannot ship different items within a single order to different addresses — each order goes to one shipping address.
Perks Benefits for Gift Orders
If you're a Perks member, your membership benefits apply to gift orders too. Free shipping applies whether you're shipping to your own address or to a gift recipient. The 2% cashback is earned on all purchases, including gifts. Package protection covers gift shipments, so if the package is lost or damaged, you're covered.
The Perks membership applies to your account, not to a specific address — so you get all the benefits on every order regardless of where it's going.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will the recipient know how much I paid? A: Not through our system. Order confirmation and tracking emails go to your email address. If you want to ensure the packing slip doesn't include pricing, contact us immediately after ordering to request a gift packing slip. We'll coordinate with the seller if the order hasn't shipped yet.
Q: Can I include a gift receipt? A: Gift receipt options vary by seller. Contact the seller through the product page to ask about gift receipts, or contact us after ordering with your order number and we'll check. Q: Can I schedule a gift to arrive on a specific date? A: We can't guarantee delivery on a specific date because carrier schedules are outside our control. The best approach is to order early enough that the gift arrives before your target date, with buffer time built in. For important dates, we recommend ordering 2-3 weeks ahead for domestic and 4-6 weeks for international.
Q: Can I add a surprise gift to someone else's order? A: No. Each order is placed independently, and you can't add items to someone else's existing order. You would need to place your own separate order shipped to the recipient's address.
Q: Will the recipient get any emails from Inspire Uplift? A: Not about your order. All order confirmations, shipping updates, and tracking emails go to your email address. The only way the recipient would receive emails from us is if they have their own Inspire Uplift account and we happen to send marketing emails they've subscribed to — but that would be unrelated to your gift order.
Q: I want to send a digital product as a gift. How does that work? A: Digital products (templates, e-books, patterns, etc.) are delivered via download through the purchaser's account and email. To gift a digital product, you'd purchase it, download it, and then share the file with the recipient yourself via email or file sharing. Digital products are tied to the buyer's account and can't be delivered directly to someone else's email through our system.
