Can I buy gift wrapping?
Gift presentation options.
Gift wrapping options vary by seller, but many of our sellers are happy to accommodate gift wrapping requests. Since Inspire Uplift is a marketplace with 55,000+ independent sellers, each seller handles their own packaging and presentation. There's no universal gift wrapping option at checkout, but here's how to get your order wrapped and looking great for the recipient.
How to Request Gift Wrapping
Option 1: Check the Product Page Some sellers include gift wrapping as an option directly on their product listing. Look for a "Gift Wrapping" selection, a checkbox during the ordering process, or a product variant that includes gift wrapping (sometimes listed as a separate add-on). If you see it on the product page, simply select it and the cost (if any) will be added to your order.
Option 2: Message the Seller Before Ordering If you don't see a gift wrapping option on the product page, message the seller directly:
- Click the seller's name on the product page to visit their shop
- Click "Message Seller" or "Contact Seller"
- Ask if they offer gift wrapping for the specific product you're interested in
- If they do, ask about any additional cost and how to add it to your order
Most sellers respond within 1-3 business days, so reach out before you're ready to order to give them time to reply. Many sellers are happy to wrap items — they deal with gift orders regularly, especially around holidays.
Option 3: Add a Note at Checkout If the checkout process includes an order notes field, you can write something like "This is a gift — please gift wrap if possible." This works best as a supplement to contacting the seller directly, since not all sellers check order notes.
Option 4: Contact Us After Ordering If you forgot to ask before placing your order, reach out to us immediately with your order number and gift wrapping request. If the order hasn't shipped yet, we'll relay your request to the seller. The sooner you contact us after ordering, the better the chances of accommodating your request.
What to Expect
Wrapping styles vary. Each seller has their own materials and approach. Some use decorative gift bags, some use wrapping paper, some use tissue paper with ribbon, and some use branded gift boxes. If you have a preference for a specific style, mention it when you contact the seller — they may be able to accommodate.
Cost varies. Some sellers offer gift wrapping for free as a courtesy, while others charge a small fee (typically $1-$5 depending on the item size and wrapping materials). The seller will let you know the cost before you commit.
Not all sellers offer it. Some sellers — particularly those shipping small or irregularly shaped items, or sellers using automated fulfillment — may not be able to provide gift wrapping. If a seller can't accommodate your request, you have other options (see below).
Gift messages may be available too. When requesting gift wrapping, ask the seller if they can include a handwritten or printed gift message card. Many sellers will include a short personal note at no extra charge. Keep your message brief and clear so the seller can include it accurately.
Alternatives to Seller Gift Wrapping
If the seller can't provide gift wrapping, or if you want more control over the presentation:
Ship to yourself and wrap at home. Order the item to your own address, wrap it yourself with your own materials and personal touch, then give it to the recipient in person or mail it yourself. This gives you full control over the presentation and lets you add personal touches like custom cards, ribbons, or decorations.
Use a gift wrapping service. Many local shipping stores (UPS Store, FedEx Office) and retail stores offer gift wrapping services for items you bring in. Order the item to yourself, then take it to a local store for professional wrapping before giving it to the recipient.
Gift bags are an easy alternative. If wrapping paper feels like too much effort, a decorative gift bag with tissue paper is quick, reusable, and looks great. Gift bags are available at most dollar stores, drugstores, and grocery stores.
Ship directly with a gift packing slip. Even without wrapping, you can send a gift directly to the recipient with pricing hidden. Contact us after ordering to request a gift packing slip with no pricing included in the package. For more details, see our article: Can I Get a Gift Receipt?
Gift Wrapping During Holiday Seasons
During peak gift-giving seasons (November-December, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day), sellers receive a higher volume of gift wrapping requests. To ensure your request is handled:
Ask early. Contact the seller or place your request as far in advance as possible. Last-minute requests during busy seasons are harder to accommodate.
Order early. Gift orders during holidays take longer due to higher volume. Build in extra time for both wrapping and shipping — we recommend ordering 2-3 weeks before you need the item for domestic delivery, and 4-6 weeks for international.
Be flexible. During the busiest periods, sellers may simplify their wrapping approach to keep up with volume. If you have very specific wrapping requirements, order well in advance and communicate clearly with the seller.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there a gift wrapping option at checkout? A: There isn't a universal gift wrapping button at checkout. Some individual sellers include it as an option on their product pages. For sellers who don't list it, message them directly to ask — many are happy to accommodate even if it's not formally listed.
Q: How much does gift wrapping cost? A: It varies by seller. Some offer it for free, while others charge $1-$5 depending on the item and materials. The seller will confirm pricing before you commit.
Q: Can I request specific wrapping paper or colors? A: You can ask, but availability depends on what materials the seller has. Most sellers use their own standard wrapping materials. If you have a specific color scheme or theme in mind (birthday, Christmas, baby shower), mention it in your message and the seller will try to match it with what they have.
Q: Will the recipient know it's gift wrapped? A: Yes — the wrapping will be visible when they open the shipping box. Most sellers place the wrapped item inside the shipping box with protective packaging around it.
Q: Can I get gift wrapping on digital products? A: No. Digital products are delivered electronically and don't have physical packaging. If you're gifting a digital product, you could pair it with a physical card or printed certificate that you wrap yourself.
Q: Can I get gift wrapping on multiple items in one order? A: If the items are from the same seller, ask the seller to wrap them — they may wrap items individually or together depending on size. If items are from different sellers, you'd need to contact each seller separately with wrapping requests.
Q: The seller agreed to gift wrap but the item arrived unwrapped. What do I do? A: Contact us with your order number and the details of what was agreed with the seller. We'll reach out to the seller on your behalf. While we can't unwrap and rewrap a shipped item, we can address the situation and ensure it doesn't happen again. If the gift was for a time-sensitive occasion and arrived unwrapped, let us know and we'll work toward a fair resolution.
