Can I use biometric login?
Fingerprint and face recognition access.
Yes! If your device supports biometric authentication, you can use it to log into Inspire Uplift faster and more securely. Fingerprint scanning (Touch ID) and facial recognition (Face ID) are both supported through our mobile app and through your device's built-in browser capabilities. Here's how to set it up and what to know.
How Biometric Login Works
Biometric login uses your device's built-in fingerprint sensor or facial recognition camera to verify your identity instead of typing your password manually. When enabled, you simply touch the sensor or look at your camera, and you're logged in. Your biometric data never leaves your device — it's stored securely in your phone's hardware, not on our servers.
Supported Biometric Methods
Fingerprint (Touch ID) Available on iPhones with Touch ID (iPhone SE, iPhone 8 and earlier models), most Android phones with fingerprint sensors (Samsung, Google Pixel, OnePlus, etc.), and iPads with Touch ID. Works with both the home button sensor and in-screen fingerprint readers.
Face Recognition (Face ID) Available on iPhones with Face ID (iPhone X and later), iPads with Face ID, and Android phones with facial recognition (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.). Uses your device's front-facing camera and depth sensors.
Note: The specific biometric methods available to you depend entirely on your device's hardware. If your phone doesn't have a fingerprint sensor or facial recognition, biometric login won't be available.
Setting Up Biometric Login in the App
Step 1: Make sure biometric authentication is enabled on your device. Go to your phone's Settings and confirm that Touch ID, Face ID, or your device's fingerprint/face recognition is set up and active.
Step 2: Download the Inspire Uplift app if you haven't already. It's free on the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).
Step 3: Log into the app with your email and password first. You need to complete a standard login before enabling biometric access.
Step 4: After your initial login, the app may prompt you to enable biometric login. If it does, tap "Enable" or "Yes." If you don't see a prompt, go to your account settings within the app and look for a biometric login or security option.
Step 5: Once enabled, your next login will give you the option to use your fingerprint or face instead of typing your password. Simply touch the sensor or look at your camera when prompted.
Using Biometric Login in Your Browser
Even without our app, your phone or computer's browser can help speed up login through built-in password managers that support biometric unlock:
iPhone/iPad Safari: If you save your Inspire Uplift password in iCloud Keychain, Safari will offer to autofill it when you visit the login page. Confirm with Face ID or Touch ID and you're logged in without typing.
Android Chrome: Saved passwords in Chrome can be autofilled after confirming with your fingerprint or face. When you visit our login page, Chrome offers to fill your credentials — verify with your biometric and you're in.
Desktop Browsers: Some laptops have fingerprint readers (MacBook Touch Bar/Touch ID, Windows Hello-compatible laptops). Browsers on these devices can use biometrics to autofill saved passwords, giving you a similar quick-login experience.
Security and Privacy
Your biometric data is safe. Biometric login doesn't send your fingerprint or face data to Inspire Uplift — ever. Here's how it works behind the scenes:
Your biometric data is stored only on your device in a secure hardware enclave (Apple's Secure Enclave or Android's Trusted Execution Environment). When you use biometric login, your device verifies your identity locally and then releases your saved login credentials to the app or browser. We never receive, store, or process your fingerprint or facial data. If your device is lost or stolen, your biometrics can't be extracted from the hardware.
Biometric login is more secure than passwords alone because your fingerprint and face can't be guessed, phished, or stolen in a data breach. Combined with a strong password as a backup, biometric login gives you both convenience and enhanced security.
When Biometric Login Might Not Work
There are situations where you'll need to fall back to your password:
After a device restart. Most devices require your password or PIN for the first unlock after a restart, even if biometrics are enabled. This is a security measure built into your device's operating system.
After multiple failed biometric attempts. If the sensor can't read your fingerprint or face after several tries (wet fingers, sunglasses, face masks), your device will ask for your password instead.
After an app update. Sometimes app updates reset login preferences. If biometric login stops working after an update, log in with your password and re-enable biometrics in settings.
When using a different device. Biometric login is tied to the specific device where you set it up. If you switch phones or use a friend's device, you'll need your email and password.
If you've changed your password. Changing your account password may require you to log in manually once before biometric login works again with the new credentials.
Tips for the Best Experience
Keep your device's software updated. Biometric features improve with OS updates, and staying current ensures the best compatibility with our app and website.
Register multiple fingerprints if your device allows it. This way you can log in with either hand. Most devices let you save 3-5 fingerprints.
Have your password as a backup. Biometrics are convenient, but always make sure you remember your password (or have it stored in a password manager) in case you need to log in manually.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for extra security. Biometric login protects your device-level access, but 2FA adds another layer of protection on the account level. Enable it in Account Settings > Security.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is biometric login available on all devices? A: Biometric login requires hardware support — a fingerprint sensor or facial recognition camera on your device. Most smartphones made in the last 5-6 years have one or both. Older devices without biometric hardware will need to use standard password login.
Q: Can someone else's fingerprint or face unlock my account? A: No. Only biometrics registered on your device can unlock the app or autofill your password. If someone else's fingerprint or face is registered on your device (like a family member), they could potentially access your account — so only register biometrics for people you trust on devices where you're logged in.
Q: What if I don't want to use biometric login? A: It's completely optional. You can always log in with your email and password. If you've enabled biometrics and want to turn them off, go to the app settings and disable the biometric login option, or remove saved passwords from your browser's password manager.
Q: Does biometric login work on desktop computers? A: If your laptop has a fingerprint reader (MacBook with Touch ID, Windows laptops with Windows Hello), your browser can use it to autofill saved passwords. Desktop computers without biometric hardware would need an external fingerprint reader, but standard password login works fine.
Q: Will biometric login keep me permanently signed in? A: Biometric login speeds up the login process but doesn't change session duration. For security, you may still be logged out after extended inactivity, and you'll use biometrics to log back in quickly rather than typing your password.
Q: I set up biometric login but it's not working anymore. What happened? A: Try logging in with your password first, then check that biometrics are still enabled in the app settings. If the issue persists, try deleting and reinstalling the app, then set up biometric login again after your first manual login. Also make sure biometrics are still enabled in your device's system settings.
