How long do refunds take?
Understanding our refund processing timeline.
Most refunds appear in your account within 3-5 business days after being issued. The total time from requesting a return to seeing the money back depends on a few steps — here's the full timeline so you know exactly what to expect.
The Full Refund Timeline
Step 1: Return Request (1-2 business days) You contact us to initiate a return. We review and approve the request, typically within 1-2 business days.
Step 2: Return Shipping (if required — 3-7 business days) If a physical return is needed, you ship the item back. Domestic transit usually takes 3-7 business days. Some cases — defective products, wrong items, or low-value items — may not require a return shipment at all. We'll let you know.
Step 3: Inspection (1-2 business days) Once the return arrives, the item is inspected to confirm it's unused and in original condition. Typically completed within 1-2 business days.
Step 4: Refund Issued (same day or next business day) After inspection approval, we process the refund. You'll receive a confirmation email letting you know the refund is on its way.
Step 5: Refund Appears in Your Account (varies by payment method)
Payment Method | Typical Timeframe |
PayPal | 1-3 business days |
Store Credit / Wallet | Immediate to 24 hours |
Credit Card | 3-5 business days (up to 7) |
Debit Card | 3-5 business days (up to 7) |
Afterpay / Klarna | Follows provider's process — remaining payments adjusted, completed payments refunded |
The Step 5 wait is on your bank's side, not ours. Once we issue the refund, your financial institution processes it at their speed.
Total Time Estimates
Returns that don't require shipping the item back (seller error, damaged product, etc.): approximately 3-7 business days total from request to refund in your account.
Standard returns with item shipped back: approximately 7-14 business days total, depending on return transit time and your bank's processing speed.
How to Check Your Refund Status
Check your email. We send a confirmation when the refund is issued. If you've received this email, the refund is on its way — your bank just needs to process it.
Check "My Orders." Your account dashboard reflects whether the refund has been processed on our end.
Check your bank statement. Look for a pending credit from INSPIREUPLIFT, PAYPAL *INSPIREUPLI, or similar. Some banks show refunds as "pending" before they fully clear.
Contact your bank. If we've confirmed the refund was issued more than 7 business days ago and it still hasn't appeared, your bank may have more details. They can sometimes see pending credits that haven't posted to your account yet.
Common Questions About Refund Timing
Q: Can I get my refund faster? A: We process refunds as quickly as possible on our end — usually same day or next day after approval. The 3-5 business day wait is your bank's processing time, which we can't speed up. PayPal and store credit are the fastest refund options.
Q: Can I receive my refund as store credit instead? A: In some cases, yes — store credit is often available immediately. Mention this preference when initiating your return and we'll let you know if it's an option.
Q: Why does my credit card refund take longer than PayPal? A: PayPal processes refunds internally within their own system, which is fast. Credit card refunds travel through banking networks — from our processor to the card network (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) to your issuing bank — which involves more steps and more time.
Q: The refund amount is different from what I paid. Why? A: If your order included shipping and the return was for a change-of-mind reason (not a seller error), shipping costs may not be included. If a coupon or discount was applied, the refund reflects what you actually paid. If the amount still seems wrong, contact us with your order number and we'll review.
Q: I returned multiple items. Will I get one refund or several? A: It depends on how the return was processed. You may receive one combined refund or separate refunds per item. Check your bank statement for multiple credits if you returned several items.
Q: My bank says they don't see a refund. What now? A: Contact us with your order number. We'll verify the refund was issued and provide a transaction reference your bank can use to trace it. Sometimes refunds post under a different name than the original charge, making them hard to spot on your statement.
Q: Do weekends and holidays affect refund timing? A: Yes. Business days exclude weekends and major holidays. A refund issued Friday may not begin processing at your bank until Monday. Holiday periods can add extra days.
