Why am I seeing an error message?

Understanding and resolving error messages.

Error messages usually indicate a temporary issue that's easy to fix. Whether you're seeing an error during checkout, while browsing, or when trying to access your account, most errors are caused by browser issues, connectivity problems, or temporary glitches — not a problem with your account or order. Here's how to diagnose and fix the most common errors.

Quick Fixes (Try These First)

Refresh the page. Press F5 (Windows), Cmd+R (Mac), or pull down to refresh on mobile. Many errors are one-time glitches that resolve with a simple reload.

Clear your browser cache. Corrupted cached data is one of the most common causes of website errors. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+Delete (Mac), select "Cached images and files," and clear. Then reload the page.

Try a different browser. If the error appears in Chrome, try Safari, Firefox, or Edge. If it works in another browser, the issue is browser-specific — usually caused by an extension, outdated version, or cache problem.

Check your internet connection. A weak or intermittent connection can cause pages to load partially, timeout, or display errors. Try loading another website to confirm your internet is working. Switch between WiFi and mobile data to see if one works better.

Disable browser extensions. Ad blockers, privacy tools, and other extensions can interfere with website functionality. Temporarily disable all extensions and reload the page. If the error disappears, re-enable extensions one at a time to identify the culprit.

Try incognito/private mode. This disables extensions and uses a clean session. If the site works in private mode, the issue is with your regular browser settings, cache, or extensions.

Restart your device. A full restart clears temporary memory and resolves deeper system issues that a browser refresh doesn't reach.

Common Error Types and Solutions

"Page Not Found" or 404 Error The page you're looking for doesn't exist or has been moved. This can happen if you clicked an old or broken link, the product listing was removed by the seller, or the URL was typed incorrectly. Try searching for the product or page using our search bar instead of the direct link.

"Something Went Wrong" or 500 Error This is a server-side error, which usually means a temporary issue on our end. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it persists for more than 30 minutes, contact us — we may be experiencing a technical issue that our team is working to resolve.

Payment Error at Checkout Payment errors can be caused by incorrect card details (number, expiration, CVV, billing address), insufficient funds, your bank declining the transaction (fraud protection trigger), an expired card, or a VPN causing location mismatch with your billing address. Double-check all payment details, try a different payment method, or contact your bank to authorize the transaction. See our article: What Should I Do If My Payment Fails?

"Session Expired" or Login Error Your browsing session timed out. This is a security feature. Simply log back in with your email and password. If you can't log in, try resetting your password through the "Forgot Password?" link.

Cart Error Items not adding, cart showing empty, or quantities not updating. Clear your cache, make sure cookies are enabled in your browser settings, and try again. If a specific item causes the error, the product may be out of stock or the listing may have been updated.

"Access Denied" or Permission Error This can happen if your IP address was temporarily flagged (common with VPNs or shared networks), if you're trying to access a page that requires login, or if a security feature blocked the request. Try disconnecting your VPN if you're using one, log in to your account, or try a different network.

Slow Loading or Timeout The page is trying to load but can't finish. Usually a connection issue. Check your internet speed, close unnecessary browser tabs, and try again. If our site specifically is timing out while other sites load fine, we may be experiencing high traffic — try again in a few minutes.

If the Error Persists

If you've tried the quick fixes above and the error continues:

Take a screenshot. Capture exactly what you see, including the error message, any error codes, and the URL. This is the single most helpful thing you can provide when reporting an issue.

Note what you were doing. What page were you on? What button did you click? Were you searching, browsing, checking out, or managing your account? Steps to reproduce the error help our team diagnose it quickly.

Contact us with the details. Include the screenshot, what you were doing, your browser and device, and when the error started. Our team can investigate and either walk you through a fix or escalate to our technical team.

When It's on Our End

Occasionally, errors are caused by issues on our side — server problems, high traffic during major sales events, or a bug in a recent update. If this is the case, the error typically affects multiple customers (not just you), other pages or functions may also be affected, and the issue usually resolves within minutes to a few hours.

During major sale events (Black Friday, Cyber Monday), brief periods of high traffic can cause intermittent errors. These resolve as traffic normalizes. If you suspect a site-wide issue, try again in 15-30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: The error only happens on one specific product page. Why? A: The product listing may have been updated, removed, or have a data issue. Try searching for the product by name instead of using a direct link. If you still can't access it, the seller may have taken it down. Contact us with the product URL and we'll investigate.

Q: I keep getting errors at checkout but everything else works fine. What's wrong? A: Checkout errors are most commonly caused by payment issues (incorrect details, declined card, billing address mismatch) or browser interference (extensions, VPN). Try a different payment method, disable extensions, disconnect your VPN, or switch browsers. If nothing works, contact us through live chat and we'll help you complete your purchase.

Q: The error message includes a code I don't understand. Should I report it? A: Yes! Error codes are very helpful for our technical team even if they're meaningless to you. Include the exact code in your report — it often points directly to the cause.

Q: Could an error message mean my account was hacked? A: Very unlikely. Most errors are technical, not security-related. If the error is specifically related to login issues you didn't cause (password changed without your knowledge, account details altered), change your password immediately and contact us. Otherwise, standard troubleshooting should resolve it.
