Are my payment details safe?

Security of financial information.

Absolutely. Your payment information is protected by multiple layers of industry-leading security, and we never store your full card details on our servers. Here's exactly how we keep your financial information safe.

How Your Payment Is Protected

Your card details never touch our servers. When you enter payment information at checkout, it goes directly to our certified payment processors through encrypted channels. We literally cannot see your full card number, CVV, or expiration date — and neither can our sellers.

PCI-DSS Level 1 Compliance. Our payment processors hold the highest level of payment security certification in the industry — the same standard required for major banks and financial institutions. This means regular security audits, strict data handling procedures, and continuous monitoring.

256-bit SSL/TLS Encryption. Every piece of data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted. This applies to all pages, not just checkout — from the moment you visit our site to the moment you leave. Look for the padlock icon and "https://" in your browser's address bar to confirm.

Tokenized Storage. If you choose to save a payment method for faster future checkout, we store only a secure token — a randomly generated reference code — not your actual card number. This token is meaningless to anyone who might intercept it. Even in the extremely unlikely event of a security breach, your real card details wouldn't be exposed because they were never stored.

Fraud Monitoring. Our payment systems actively monitor transactions in real time for suspicious patterns, unusual activity, and potential fraud. Questionable transactions are flagged and reviewed before processing.

Additional Security from Payment Processors

Our payment processors also hold SOC 2 Type II certification (verified security controls and procedures) and ISO 27001 certification (international information security management standard). These certifications are independently audited and renewed regularly.

What We Never Store

To be completely clear, here's what is never saved on our servers: full credit card numbers, CVV/security codes, full debit card numbers, bank account numbers, PayPal login credentials, and digital wallet credentials (Apple Pay, Google Pay).

If you save a payment method, only the card type, last 4 digits, and a secure token are retained — enough to display which card is saved, but nowhere near enough for anyone to use it.

What You Can Do to Stay Safe

Use strong account security. A unique password plus two-factor authentication (Account Settings > Security) protects your account from unauthorized access, which in turn protects any saved payment methods.

Monitor your statements. After making a purchase, check your bank or credit card statement to confirm the charge matches your order. Inspire Uplift charges may appear as INSPIREUPLIFT, PAYPAL *INSPIREUPLI, or similar.

Never share payment details via message. Our support team and sellers will never ask for your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials. If anyone does, it's a scam.

Use Express Checkout for extra protection. Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal add another security layer — they process payments without sharing your actual card number with us or anyone else. Apple Pay and Google Pay also require biometric verification (fingerprint or face), adding physical security.

Shop on secure connections. Our site is encrypted regardless, but for extra peace of mind, avoid entering payment information on public or shared computers. Use your personal device or the Inspire Uplift app.

If Something Goes Wrong

Unrecognized charge? Check with household members first (someone may have placed an order using your payment method). Verify the charge description matches our billing names. If the charge is truly unauthorized, contact us immediately and we'll investigate. You can also dispute the charge with your bank.

Card compromised? If you believe your card information was compromised anywhere (not necessarily on our site), contact your bank to freeze or replace the card, remove the saved payment method from your Inspire Uplift account, change your account password, and enable 2FA if you haven't already.

Suspicious activity on your account? Contact us immediately. We'll help secure your account and investigate any unauthorized transactions. See our article: What If I Suspect Fraud?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is it safe to save my card for future purchases? A: Yes. Only a secure token is stored — not your actual card number. The token is useless outside our system. This is the same approach used by Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major e-commerce platforms.

Q: Is PayPal safer than entering my card directly? A: Both are equally secure on our platform. PayPal adds an extra layer by keeping your card within PayPal's system — our payment processor never sees your actual card number. Both methods are protected by encryption and fraud monitoring.

Q: Are buy now, pay later options (Afterpay, Klarna) secure? A: Yes. Afterpay and Klarna are established financial services companies with their own security certifications and fraud protection. Your payment information is handled by their secure systems, not stored by us.

Q: How do I remove a saved payment method? A: Go to Account Settings and find your saved payment methods. Click "Remove" or "Delete" next to the card you want to remove. The token is permanently deleted from our system.
