Do you offer installation services?

Help with product setup.

We don't provide installation or assembly services. Inspire Uplift is an online marketplace — we connect you with great products from our 55,000+ independent sellers, but we don't have physical teams that visit your home for setup. Your products are delivered to your door, and from there, assembly or installation is up to you. That said, most of our products don't require professional help, and here's what to know for the ones that do.

Why We Don't Offer These Services

As an online marketplace with sellers shipping products from locations around the world, providing local installation or assembly crews isn't part of our operating model. Traditional retailers with physical stores sometimes offer this because they have local staff and service networks — but our strength is offering 20M+ unique products at competitive prices from independent sellers everywhere, not managing a field service operation.

What to Expect With Your Purchase

The vast majority of products on Inspire Uplift fall into one of three categories:

Ready to Use (No Assembly Needed) Most of our products — accessories, gadgets, clothing, beauty products, kitchen tools, decor items, phone cases, jewelry, and similar items — are ready to use right out of the box. No tools, no instructions, no assembly required.

Simple Self-Assembly Some products like shelving units, small furniture pieces, storage organizers, or certain home decor items require basic assembly. These typically come with illustrated assembly instructions and any necessary hardware (screws, bolts, brackets). Most can be assembled with basic household tools in 15-60 minutes. No special skills or professional help needed.

May Benefit From Professional Help A small number of products — larger furniture, wall-mounted items, electrical fixtures, or products requiring drilling, wiring, or structural attachment — may benefit from professional installation. These are the exception rather than the rule on our marketplace.

How to Know If a Product Requires Assembly

Check the product description. Sellers typically indicate whether a product requires assembly and what's involved. Look for phrases like "assembly required," "easy assembly," "includes hardware," "some assembly needed," or "ready to use / no assembly required."

Look at product photos. Product images often show the item both unassembled (in packaging) and fully assembled. If you see an "assembled view" and a "what's in the box" photo, some assembly is likely required.

Read customer reviews. Reviews are your best source of honest information about assembly difficulty. Look for comments about how long assembly took, how clear the instructions were, what tools were needed, and whether the process was easy or challenging. A product with multiple reviews saying "easy to put together" is a good sign.

Ask the seller. If the listing isn't clear about assembly requirements, message the seller through the product page. Ask specifically what assembly is required, what tools you'll need, how long it typically takes, and whether assembly instructions are included.

Finding Professional Help Locally

If you purchase a product that requires installation or assembly beyond your comfort level, these services can help:

TaskRabbit (taskrabbit.com) Connect with local freelancers who handle furniture assembly, wall mounting, shelf installation, and general handyman tasks. Book online, read reviews, and get upfront pricing. Available in most major US cities and some international locations.

Amazon Home Services / Angi (angi.com) Find local professionals for furniture assembly, TV mounting, fixture installation, and more. Read reviews and compare pricing from multiple service providers in your area.

Thumbtack (thumbtack.com) Request quotes from local professionals for specific jobs. Describe what you need and receive bids from available service providers. Good for larger installation projects.

Local Handyman Services Search for "handyman near me" or "furniture assembly service near me" for local professionals. Many independent handymen offer affordable assembly and installation at hourly rates. Ask for references and check reviews before hiring.

Hardware Store Services Some hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowe's offer installation services or can recommend local contractors. If your product requires tools or materials you don't have, these stores can help with both the supplies and the labor.

Friends and Family For simple assembly tasks, sometimes the best help is a friend or family member who's handy. Most basic assembly (bookshelves, desks, storage units) is manageable with two people and a basic tool set.

Tips for Successful Self-Assembly

If you're tackling assembly yourself, these tips will help:

Read all instructions before starting. Don't start assembling while reading step by step. Read through the entire instruction sheet first to understand the full process, identify all parts, and avoid surprises midway through.

Lay out all parts and hardware first. Open the box, spread everything out, and count the pieces against the parts list. Confirm everything is included before you start. If anything is missing, contact us before attempting assembly.

Use the right tools. Most assembly requires basic tools — a Phillips screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, and possibly an Allen wrench (often included). Having a power drill with screwdriver bits makes most assembly significantly faster and easier. Don't force parts together with the wrong tool.

Work on a clean, flat surface. Assemble on a clean floor or large table with good lighting. Put down a blanket or cardboard to protect both the product and your floor from scratches.

Don't overtighten screws. Tighten all screws until snug, then go back for a final tightening pass at the end. Overtightening during assembly can strip holes, crack material, or misalign parts.

Take photos as you go. If the assembly is complex, take photos at each stage. This helps if you need to backtrack or troubleshoot, and gives you a reference if you ever need to disassemble and reassemble (for moving, for example).

Watch YouTube. For popular products, customers often post assembly tutorial videos on YouTube. Search the product name and "assembly" for visual walkthroughs that complement written instructions.

What If Parts Are Missing or Instructions Are Unclear

Missing parts: Contact us with your order number and a description of what's missing. We'll coordinate with the seller to send replacement parts or arrange a resolution. Don't attempt assembly with missing pieces — it can compromise the product's stability and safety.

Unclear instructions: Try searching for the product name online — you may find clearer instructions, video tutorials, or community forums where others have shared assembly tips. If that doesn't help, message the seller through the product page and ask for clarification. You can also contact us and we'll reach out to the seller on your behalf.

Damaged parts: If any parts arrived damaged, contact us immediately with your order number and photos of the damage. We'll arrange replacement parts or a full product replacement. Don't assemble with damaged components — it can be unsafe and will void any resolution options.

Products That Require Professional Installation

Some products should only be installed by qualified professionals for safety reasons. These include electrical fixtures and wiring (hire a licensed electrician), plumbing fixtures (hire a licensed plumber), heavy wall-mounted items on load-bearing walls, gas appliances or connections, and anything involving structural modifications to your home.

If a product listing indicates professional installation is needed, factor that cost into your purchase decision. The product price may be great, but the installation cost adds to your total investment. Get an installation quote from a local professional before purchasing so you know the full cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do any sellers offer installation or assembly with their products? A: Our sellers focus on manufacturing and shipping products, not providing in-home services. Installation and assembly services would need to be arranged locally and separately from your Inspire Uplift purchase.

Q: I bought furniture and it's too difficult to assemble. Can I return it? A: Our 14-day return policy applies. If you're unable to assemble the product and want to return it, contact us within 14 days of delivery. The item must be in its original condition — if you've partially assembled it, disassemble it and repackage it before returning. Items that can't be returned to their original condition may not qualify for a full refund.

Q: The product arrived with no assembly instructions. What do I do? A: Contact us with your order number. We'll reach out to the seller and get instructions sent to you, either as a physical insert or a digital PDF. In the meantime, check the product listing page — some sellers include instruction downloads or reference images there.

Q: How do I know if I need professional installation for something? A: If the product involves electricity, plumbing, gas connections, or structural attachment to your home, professional installation is recommended. If it's standard furniture assembly (shelves, desks, storage) with included instructions and hardware, most people can handle it themselves. When in doubt, consult a local professional — many offer free estimates.

Q: Can I hire someone to assemble the product and still keep my return rights? A: Yes. Having someone else assemble the product doesn't affect your return rights. However, if you decide to return it, you'll need to disassemble it and return it in its original condition and packaging. The cost of professional assembly is not refundable by us since that service was arranged separately.

Q: A product listing says "easy assembly" but it's actually really complicated. What can I do? A: If the product was misrepresented — described as "easy assembly" but requires advanced skills or tools not mentioned — contact us. Misleading product descriptions fall under our buyer protection. We'll work with you on a resolution, which may include a return and refund if the assembly requirements were significantly understated.
