How do I change my password?

Updating your account password.

You can update your password anytime through Account Settings. Regular password changes are a good security habit, and the process takes less than a minute. Here's how.

How to Change Your Password

  1. Log into your account at www.inspireuplift.com
  2. Go to Account Settings (click your profile icon, then "Account Settings")
  3. Find the password section and click "Change Password"
  4. Enter your current password (to verify it's really you)
  5. Enter your new password
  6. Confirm the new password by typing it again
  7. Click "Save" or "Update"

Your password is updated immediately. Use the new password for all future logins.

If You Forgot Your Current Password

If you can't remember your current password and therefore can't complete the change through Account Settings, use the password reset process instead:

  1. Go to the login page at www.inspireuplift.com
  2. Click "Forgot Password?"
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account
  4. Check your email (including spam/junk folders) for the reset link
  5. Click the link and create a new password
  6. Log in with your new password

The reset link expires after a set period for security. If it expires, request a new one. See our article: I Forgot My Password for more details.

Creating a Strong Password

A strong password is your first line of defense against unauthorized access:

Length matters most. Use at least 8 characters — longer is better. A 12+ character password is significantly harder to crack than an 8-character one.

Mix character types. Include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. "Sunny2024!" is much stronger than "sunny2024."

Avoid obvious choices. Don't use your name, email address, birthday, "password," "123456," or other easily guessable words. Hackers try these first.

Make it unique. Don't reuse a password from another website. If that other site has a data breach, every account sharing that password is compromised. Each site should have its own unique password.

Consider a passphrase. A string of random words like "PurpleTacoRainMountain" is both strong and memorable. Add numbers and symbols for even more security: "Purple$Taco7Rain!Mountain."

Use a Password Manager

If remembering unique passwords for every site sounds impossible, a password manager solves this completely. Tools like 1Password, LastPass, Bitwarden, or your browser's built-in password manager generate strong unique passwords for every site, store them securely in an encrypted vault, auto-fill login forms so you never type passwords manually, and sync across all your devices.

You only need to remember one master password — the password manager handles everything else. This is genuinely the single best thing you can do for your online security across all websites, not just ours.

Additional Security: Two-Factor Authentication

For an extra layer beyond your password, enable two-factor authentication (2FA):

  1. Go to Account Settings > Security
  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Follow the setup steps

With 2FA enabled, logging in requires both your password and a second verification step. Even if someone obtains your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.

When to Change Your Password

Change it immediately if you suspect someone else knows your password, you notice unfamiliar activity on your account, you used the same password on another site that had a data breach, you shared your password with someone (even temporarily), or you've been using the same password for a very long time.

Change it periodically as a general security habit — every 6-12 months is a reasonable cadence for most people. With a password manager and 2FA enabled, periodic changes are less critical but still good practice.

After Changing Your Password

Update your password manager if you use one — most will offer to save the new password automatically when you change it.

You may be logged out on other devices. For security, changing your password may end active sessions on your phone, other browsers, or the app. Simply log back in with your new password.

The app may need a fresh login. If you're logged into the Inspire Uplift app, you may need to re-enter your new password. Biometric login (Face ID, Touch ID) will work after one successful password login.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there a minimum password length? A: Yes — passwords must be at least 8 characters. We recommend longer passwords (12+ characters) for better security.

Q: Can I reuse an old password? A: We recommend against it. If an old password was ever compromised, reusing it puts your account at risk again. Create a fresh, unique password each time.

Q: I changed my password but I'm still getting logged out frequently. Why? A: Frequent logouts are usually caused by browser cookie settings, not password issues. See our article: Why Am I Getting Logged Out Automatically?

Q: Someone changed my password without my knowledge. What do I do? A: Use the "Forgot Password?" process to reset it immediately using your email. Then enable 2FA, check your account for unauthorized orders or changes, and contact us to report the unauthorized access. See our article: What If Someone Else Used My Account?
