How do I find similar products?

Discovering related items.

There are several ways to discover similar products on Inspire Uplift, whether you're comparing options, looking for a better price, or searching for alternatives to something that's sold out. With 20M+ products from 55,000+ sellers, you'll almost always find multiple options for whatever you're looking for. Here's how to surface them.

On the Product Page

When you're viewing any product listing, the page itself offers several built-in discovery tools:

"You Might Also Like" Section Scroll below the product description and you'll often find a section showing related products. These recommendations are based on the product's category, features, and what other shoppers browsed alongside it. This is one of the easiest ways to see similar items without typing a single search.

"Customers Also Bought" or "Related Products" Some product pages display items that other customers purchased along with (or instead of) the product you're viewing. These are strong indicators of alternatives and complementary items — if other shoppers compared the same products, their choices can guide yours.

Seller's Shop Page Click the seller's name on the product page to visit their full shop. Many sellers specialize in a specific product category, so their shop may have similar items in different sizes, colors, styles, or variations. If you like one product from a seller, browsing their shop often reveals more options you'll love.

Using Search Effectively

Our search bar is your most powerful tool for finding similar products. Here are strategies that work well:

Search with the product type. If you found a "bamboo phone stand" you like, search "phone stand" to see all phone stands across the marketplace. You might find stands made from different materials, with different features, or at different price points.

Use descriptive keywords. Instead of searching a brand name or exact product title, describe what the product does or looks like. For a decorative throw pillow, try "velvet throw pillow," "decorative cushion cover," "accent pillow" — different sellers use different terms for similar products.

Vary your search terms. If your first search doesn't return enough options, try synonyms or alternative descriptions. A "desk organizer" might also be listed as "desktop storage," "office caddy," "pen holder," or "desk tidy." Different terminology opens up different results.

Add or remove specifics. If you searched "blue ceramic coffee mug" and got too few results, broaden to "ceramic coffee mug" or just "coffee mug." If you got too many results, add specifics like "large blue ceramic coffee mug 16oz" to narrow down.

Search by use case. Sometimes describing what you want the product for yields better results than describing the product itself. "Gift for dog lover," "home office organization," or "travel accessories" can surface products you wouldn't have found by searching for a specific item name.

Sorting and Filtering Results

Once you have a set of search results or are browsing a category, use sorting and filtering to zero in on the best options:

Sort by relevance (default) to see the products most closely matching your search terms at the top.

Sort by Top Rated to see the highest-reviewed similar products first — other customers have already done the quality testing for you.

Sort by Price (Low to High) to find the most affordable alternatives.

Sort by Best Sellers to see which similar products are most popular with other shoppers.

Filter by price range to only see products within your budget. Set a minimum and maximum to eliminate options that are too cheap (potentially low quality) or too expensive (over budget).

Browsing by Category

If you know the general type of product you want but aren't sure of the exact search terms, browse through categories:

  1. Navigate to the main menu or category bar on our website or app
  2. Select the broad category (Home & Garden, Electronics, Fashion, etc.)
  3. Drill down into subcategories to narrow the selection
  4. Use sorting and filters within the category to find what you need

Category browsing is great for discovery — you'll see products you didn't know existed that might be exactly what you're looking for. It's the online equivalent of walking through a store and browsing the aisles.

When a Product Is Out of Stock

If the specific product you wanted is no longer available, finding a similar alternative is straightforward:

Search for the product type. Copy key descriptive words from the sold-out listing's title and search for them. Similar products from other sellers will likely appear.

Check the product page. Even on a sold-out listing, "You Might Also Like" and related product sections often still display, showing you available alternatives.

Contact the seller. Message the seller and ask if the product will be restocked, or if they have a similar item available. Sellers sometimes have comparable products that aren't immediately obvious.

Contact us. Describe what you're looking for and we'll help find similar available products across our marketplace.

Add to your wishlist. If you'd rather wait for the exact product, add it to your wishlist and check back periodically. Popular items are often restocked by sellers.

Comparing Similar Products

Once you've found several options, here's how to choose between them:

Compare total cost. Look at product price plus shipping cost — a slightly cheaper product with expensive shipping may cost more than a pricier product with free shipping. Perks members get free shipping on everything, making product price the only cost factor.

Read reviews side by side. Pay attention to star ratings, number of reviews (more reviews = more reliable rating), and specific comments about quality, sizing, and durability. Customer review photos show you the real product rather than professional listing photos.

Check delivery estimates. If timing matters, compare estimated delivery dates. A similar product from a closer seller might arrive a week earlier.

Look at return eligibility. Our 14-day return policy applies to most items, but some products (personalized, final sale) may have restrictions. Check before purchasing if returns are important to your decision.

Message sellers with questions. If you're down to two or three options, message each seller with specific questions about materials, dimensions, durability, or anything else that would help you decide. The seller whose response is most helpful often provides the best overall experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I compare two products side by side? A: There isn't a built-in comparison tool, but you can open multiple product pages in separate browser tabs and compare specs, photos, reviews, and pricing side by side. On mobile, save products to your wishlist and review them together from your wishlist page.

Q: Why do similar products have very different prices? A: Price differences between similar products can reflect different sellers with different cost structures, varying quality levels and materials, different shipping origins (domestic vs. international), branding and packaging differences, and whether shipping is included in the product price. Compare total cost (product + shipping) and read reviews about quality to determine which offers the best value.

Q: How do I know which similar product is the best quality? A: Customer reviews are your best quality indicator. Look for products with high star ratings from a large number of reviews, detailed written reviews mentioning durability and quality, customer photos showing the actual product, and consistent positive feedback across many buyers. A product with 4.7 stars from 500 reviews is generally a safer bet than one with 5 stars from 5 reviews.

Q: I found the same product listed by multiple sellers at different prices. Which should I buy from? A: Compare seller ratings and review counts, total cost including shipping, estimated delivery time, and return policies. The lowest-priced listing isn't always the best value if the seller has poor reviews or very long shipping times. A slightly higher price from a reliable seller with fast shipping can be worth it.

Q: Can I set up alerts for new products in a category I'm interested in? A: Subscribe to our email newsletter for regular product highlights across popular categories. Follow us on social media for daily new product showcases. You can also save search terms as browser bookmarks — checking them periodically shows newly added products matching your interests.
